KASE

Kottakkal Ayurveda School of Excellence (KASE) is a unique wing of Kerala Ayurveda Studies nd Research Society (KASRS) for continuing, innovative and functional education for Ayurvedic fraternity. KASE is envisaged to realize the ingrained purpose of KASRS to promote and facilitate the research and training in Ayurveda by running specially designed short term courses and workshops. It is proposed to equip the attending participants to face the various challenges of practicing Ayurveda in a globalized era, through continuing Ayurvedic professional training. The aim of the said institution is that the main stakeholders, students and practitioners of Ayurveda, should become confident and competent enough to become the torch bearers of this ancient system of medicine. Conducting short term courses for skill development for Ayurvedic practitioners will help them for the acquisition of additional skills in various clinical departments.KASE plans to conduct elective and short term courses in industrial, research and hospitality settings to those who are aspiring to join such industries. CIMCD (The centenary memorial Centre for Integrated Management of Children with Differential abilities)

CIMCD is a new initiative of Kaumarabhritya department of VPSV Ayurveda College Kottakkal in association with Kerala Ayurveda studies and research society (KASRS), is functioning progressively and successfully inside the campus. The institution is serving a lot of children with differential abilities and other childhood disorders. The centre provides Multidisciplinary Professional assessment and diagnostic services including early identification of the disorder and intervention for children, comprehensive integrated therapy including speech and language therapy, behavioral therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, sensory integration therapy of all age group with special preference to pediatric population. The centre also provides parental, caretakers and teachers training programs, nutritional and lifestyle management for its health seeks. The other areas of service are Special remedial programmes for school going children those who having learning problems and other disabling conditions, Special educational services with individual education methods, Special therapeutic intervention packages for out station clients those who are attending short durational services. AYUSH-EMR project

The department is funded by AYUSH for a project entitled “A randomized controlled trial to assess the effect of a gut therapy protocol [koshtachikitsa] for managing dysbiosis in children with autism” under Extra mural projects. The project has started functioning from October 2018 with head of department as the principal investigator. A senior and a junior research fellow work for the project. The objective of the study is to analyze the effect of 30 days ayurvedic gut therapy protocol in reducing the ama lakshanas in autistic children. It also analyze the quality and quantity of microbial gut flora before and after ayurvedic gut therapy protocol in reducing the symptoms of dysbiosis in autistic children by sequencing 16 r RNA
